Interviewing healthcare clowns around the world

I have begun the work of collecting thoughts, experiences and reflections from hospital clowns working in pediatric palliative care around the world.

During the Healthcare Clowning International Meeting 2026 (HCIM 2026) in Lausanne, Switzerland 11-13 March 2026 I arranged a stand where clowns could talk to me about this invisible work that society needs to hear about.

In these strange days, when the world is spinning in the weirdest way, its more important then ever to highlight tools to create hope, life and poetry in the roughest situations.

A lot of brave clowns told me their stories and I will integrate this material in stage texts, stands and articles to come. Connecting and sharing this very particular work might inspire others to see the importance of using art in pediatric palliative care and how people in general can empower each others in meeting the unknown.

This art project is a collaboration with Sykehusklovnene in Norway and it will continue to voice clowns working with life and death to increase social taboo. We need an open dialogue about both life and death to brake conspiracy of silence around these important themes. Connecting and sharing is the ongoing goal of this project.
